Coastal Marine Ltd. have a long and distinguished history of building and maintaining the very highest quality commercial vessels from rugged all weather Fishing Vessels to Supply Vessels and Wind farm Support Vessels.
They have for many years been an RNLI repair and refurbishment contractor maintaining the RNLI’s Lifeboats to the most exacting of Maritime Standards.
These skills have now come together to create a Replica Dutch Barge of perfect dimensions for both the UK market and for comfortable cruising on the beautiful Inland Waterways of Europe.
This superb Barge is being built using all the traditional commercial Shipbuilding skills which now have almost totally disappeared from the UK. Quality and attention to detail are immediately obvious and the level of
craftsmanship demonstrates the rich heritage of Scotland’s master & Ship & Boatbuilders.
This vessel is available for immediate purchase and can be ready to cruise by mid summer 2011.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:
ENGINE Main propulsion is provided by a new Doosan turbocharged and
intercooled diesel engine, type L034TIH. The engine is securely
mounted on steel chocks and Seacocks are fitted at Port forward
and Starboard aft. The propeller shaft passes through a securely
fitted bulkhead gland at aft.
The engine compartment is accessed from the wheelhouse via a
short vertical ladder. The space is arranged with main engine
centrally located, and auxiliary generator engine mounted on a
platform at Starboard and stainless steel battery boxes at Port

The superstructure comprises a continuous
coach roof extending over approximately 13.50
metres, the more elevated section immediately
forward of the wheelhouse housing the galley and
living area, whilst the lower sections at fore and
aft house sleeping quarters with en-suite
facilities. A walkway of minimum width 450mm
extends along both sides of the coach roof, giving
access to forward and aft deck areas. There are
handrails around all deck areas.
There are a number of external hull/deck fittings.
These include:

Material:The hull was provided in kit form by Girraween Marine Development of
the Netherlands. It is constructed entirely of welded steel using 5mm and
6mm thick plate and is transversely framed, with the lower part given
protection when grounded by the installation of 2 x longtitudinal channel
stiffeners fitted to both Port and Starboard of the keel. Internally, the
vessel is divided into three compartments, with accommodation to fore
and aft of the machinery space, which is provided with two watertight
bulkheads.
On deck, the vessel is fitted with forward and aft coach roofs, each of the
three sections equipped with flush mounted ventilation heads and
rectangular hinged and glazed hatches offering additional ventilation and
emergency means of escape.
Filling and vent pipes for the fresh, grey and black water holding tanks
and also the fuel tank are recessed into the lower coach roof sides. The
lower forward coach roof is equipped with 350mm diameter, nonopening
port glasses, two each to Port and Starboard. Each side of the
elevated coach roof section is fitted with two windows, each with hinged
quarter-lights and dimensions of 550mm x 600mm, whilst the after coach
roof has one port glass at Port and Starboard sides. All units feature
double-glazing with toughened glass and are manufactured by Sea
Glaze.
On deck, the vessel is fitted with forward and aft coach roofs, each of the
three sections equipped with flush mounted ventilation heads and
rectangular hinged and glazed hatches offering additional ventilation and
emergency means of escape.

Cabins: A short alleyway at Starboard forward leads
to the sleeping quarters and the space to the
port of this alleyway is given over to the ensuite
facilities, which include WC, shower
and wash basin. The sleeping quarters are
equipped for a generous double size bed.

In Coastal Marine Ltd’s. yard at Eyemouth in Scotland and is
shown here prior to her being moved to the paint shop where she
will be blasted down to bare metal and painted using the same
paint and application process as is employed on the RNLI
Lifeboats which are maintained, re-furbished and re-painted at
this yard.
